1、第一节 语篇翻译
Big Ben(大本钟), will fall quiet for four years. 66.它是伦敦最受欢迎的地方之一。 But now it needs repairs. It has worked for 157 years. It sounded for the last time at noon on August 21 this year.
Four years would be a long time for London people. 67.Although they felt a little upset, they were still understanding. “It will be very sad, but it needs to be done,’ said Kirsten Hurrel. “68.I already prepared myself for the days without the rings for Big Ben.” About 2,5700 people went to hear Big Ben’s last rings. However, 69.如果有重要的事件,大本钟又会开始工作。 For example, it will spend the New Year’s Eve with its people and the speech of the Queen.
Well, this is not the first time in history that the bell has stopped. It stopped for repairs between 1983 and 1985, and again in 2007.
The bell is the largest bell in the country. It is about 13 tons, as heavy as two elephants. The repairs may cost about £ 29 million. By the year 2021 when it reappears, Big Ben will look totally newly-dressed. 70.“I believe most people in London are looking forward to that day,” said the chief engineer Adams White.

Many animals have tails(尾巴). They use their tails to do many different things. Some animals use their tails as flyswatters(苍蝇拍). Have you ever seen a cow shake its tail back and forth? It’s driving away the flies. Horses also use their tails in the same way.
Some animals hang by their tails. Monkeys often do this. Then they can use all four of their paws for other things, such as eating. A kangaroo(袋鼠)has a large, useful tail. It’s like a chair. The kangaroo stands on its tail to rest. It helps the kangaroo stand well. The tail is also good for landing. The fox can put its tail over its nose and paws while it sleeps. The tail can keep the fox warm.

23、After all these experiences, I learned a lot and began to grow up. One autumn night, when my parents and I returned from my uncle’s house, my mother said that we might leave for Australia soon. I was crying on the bus, and some people were turning around to look at me. I could not stop the thought of never hearing the morning radio programmes in school again.
I do not remember myself crying for this reason again. In fact, I think I cried very little when I was saying goodbye to my friends and relatives. When we were leaving, I couldn’t wait to think about all the places I was going to see the strange and magical places I had known only from books and pictures. The country I was leaving was hardly in my head then.
The following years taught me to think all was going to turn out well, but the idea did not come to me at once. For the first two years, I had to study in three schools because of my family moves. I did not know very clearly what I was or what I should be. Father died and Mother then married again. And things became even more complex (复杂). More than two years passed, my stepfather and I got used to each other at last. I was often sad, and saw no end to “the hard times.”
My responsibilities in the family increased since I knew English better than everyone else at home. I wrote letters, taught my mother to fill out forms, translated at interviews with immigration officers(移民局官员), took my grandparents to the doctor and translated there...
I have learned that all common troubles go away at last if we don’t give up. My life will turn out all right, even though it will be so hard.
