25、It is important to learn how to protect our environment. Here is a 5R rule for us.
Reduce: If you want to reduce the waste, you should use things wisely. A large number of trees are cut down to make paper. If everyone uses paper wastefully, soon we would not have any trees left. So it is necessary to reduce the waste.
Reuse: You should always think of reusing the able things before throwing them away. For example, we should buy reusable forks and knives instead of ones we throw away. Bring cups to the coffee shop and cloth bags to the store. Give your clothes you do not use or the ones which are too small to the poor. In a family, you may pass on such clothes to younger brothers or sisters.
Recycle: Recycling uses less energy and fewer resources (资源). Bottles, cans (罐子) and paper cups can be easily recycled. They can be remade into the same thing or new things.
Recover: When you buy a box of apples, there may be a few rotten (腐烂的) ones, you have two choices: one is to throw the whole apple away, or you could cut off the rotten parts and eat the good parts. In this way, you are recovering the eatable parts of food.
Repair: If one of the legs of your table is broken, you can repair it. If you want to change for better ones, it is better for you to sell the old things or give them to other people who can use them after repairing them.

26、We touch our faces all the time, and it had never seemed to be a big problem-until COVID-19 arrived. Touching our faces-the “T-zone” of our eyes, nose and mouth-can mean giving ourselves this virus. This is why some organizations have suggested that we should avoid touching our faces. William Sawyer, from Henry the Hand, told The Washington Post, “Just stop this simple behavior, and that would be better than any vaccine (疫苗) ever created.”
However, stopping this “simple” behavior might be harder than you think because we are used to it. Some face-touching is an automatic reaction-like when there is an itch (痒) on your nose, you’ll touch it again and again without thinking. A 2014 study found that touching your face also helps you to have less stress. For example, it’s possible for you to do it when you feel embarrassed. According to Dacher Keltner, psychologist at the University of California Berkeley, US, this action may also have a social use: When you are talking to someone, for example, touching your face means you want to talk about another thing.
Besides, it’s very hard to change this face-touching “because you don’t even know you’re doing it”, said Sawyer.
But you’re not alone. In a 2015 study, it was found that a group of medical students touched their faces about 23 times an hour-with 44 percent of the touches in the “T-zones”. That was very surprising because medical students should know better. Since it’s so hard to shake the habit, maybe the easiest way is to wash our hands more often. This way, we can be sure that our hands are safe from COVID-19.
【1】The “T-zone” is formed from ________.

A.some face-touching is an automatic reaction
B.face-touching may increase stress
C.face-touching may have a social use
D.face-touching may cause an itch on your face

27、 Facebook says it is working on technology to allow us to control computers directly with our brains. It is developing "silent speech" software to allow people to type at a rate of 100 words per minute, it says. The project, in its early stages, will require new technology to detect brainwaves without needing invasive operation. "We are not talking about monitoring your random thoughts," assured Facebook's Regina Dugan. "You have many thoughts, and you choose to share some of them. We're talking about monitoring those words. A silent speech interface(界面) — one with all the speed and flexibility(灵活) of voice. "
Ms Dugan is the company's head of Building 8, the firm's hardware research lab. The company said it intends to build both the hardware and software to achieve its goal, and has employed a team of more than 60 scientists and academics to work on the project.
On his Facebook page, Mark Zuckerberg added, "Our brains produce enough data to stream four HD(高清) movies every second. The problem is that the best way we have to get information out into the world-speech can only send about the same amount of data as a 1980s modem. We're working on a system that will let you type straight from your brain about five times faster than you can type on your phone today. Finally, we want to turn it into a wearable technology that can be produced in quantity. "
Technology is going to have to get a lot more advanced before we can share a pure thought or feeling, but this is a first step. Other ideas detailed at the company's developers conference in San Jose included work to allow people to "hear" through skin. The system, comparable to Braille, uses pressure points on the skin to pass information. "One day, not so far away, it may be possible for me to think in Chinese, and you to feel it instantly in Spanish," Ms Dugan said.

But in our daily life, I often see my classmates get【7】________ (worry) about little things: they get a bad grade on the test; their bus comes late; they don’t have a mobile phone but others have, and so on. But I only enjoy my life. I was lucky to realize from an accident: it’s a waste of our life to focus on what you have lost. We should always think of 【8】 ________ we have. So why are so many people unhappy? Someone may say, “My whole life would improve if I had a new car. But when you get the car, what happens? 【9】 ________ a whole week you are walking on air. Then you go right back to being unhappy.
Happiness 【10】_______ (depend) on what we have! It’s in our heart. It’s a state of mind: even though you own the whole world, you may still feel unhappy. Happiness comes from mastering the art of appreciating (感激) and taking pleasure in what you really have.

My heart felt so full of _________ for this boy. I told him how _________ he was to come forward and how amazing it was that he did something ________ to correct his mistake. I ________ the girl and asked her if she could ________ him. Without hesitation(犹豫), she said, “Yes.”
I think middle school students are not little children any more, and not grown-ups yet. It is normal that they make mistakes because of their ________.
